Phosphorus uptake excellent in both crops. Nitrogen limiting in wheat. All other nutrients adequate.

Key results

  • Excellent growing conditions produced wheat yields of up to 5.0t/ha and canola yields of up to 2.6t/ha
  • Nitrogen increased wheat yields by 0.8 to 0.9t/ha, but canola was relatively unresponsive
  • Neither crop was responsive to phosphorus where nitrogen was applied.
