Plant Analysis results

Strong recovery of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P); adequate supply of sulphur (S), calcium (Ca), boron (B), and molybdenum (Mo). Potassium (K) was marginal where Potash omitted.

 * MoP topdressed IBS to trts 1-6; 8 and 9; NS or urea (trt 5) applied at rosette and bolting (except for trt 8).

 

 

Key results

  • Plant tests indicated that only potassium would be limiting
  • Potassium deficiency led to crop lodging and yield loss in the ‘High NS’ treatment
  • Potash increased yield by 0.5t/ha.
