Victorian Premier opens $5.5 million water recycling plant at Australian Vinyls

08/02/2010

Victorian Premier John Brumby has today opened Australian Vinyl's $5.5 million water recycling plant.

The plant will save 325 million litres of water a year, halving AV’s potable water intake and reducing the company’s reliance on Melbourne’s valuable drinking water supplies.

At the official event held at AV in Laverton North earlier today, CSBP Managing Director Ian Hansen said that the plant was further evidence of both CSBP and AV’s strong commitment to sustainable operation.

Mr Hansen said the opening marked the culmination of several years of dedication and hard work by the talented and committed people at AV.

"The plant we open today has been designed by our own engineers and I would like to commend them for their innovative approach to provide a water recycling solution suitable for our operations here at Laverton North."
