Increasing our ammonium nitrate production capacity
Last year, CSBP announced the approval of a three stage $15 million front end engineering and design (FEED) study to increase ammonium nitrate production capacity at its Kwinana industrial complex.
The ammonium nitrate expansion project (or AN3) would involve the construction of:
- an additional nitric acid plant,
- an additional ammonium nitrate plant,
- an upgrade of the existing prilling plant and,
- the de-bottlenecking of the nitric acid plants
It would increase AN production capacity by 260,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) bringing the site’s total AN production capacity to 780,000 tpa.
