We’re committed to storing and transporting our chemical products safely, and we follow strict safety standards across our ammonia and ammonium nitrate operations.
Committed to security
Security risk substances (SRS) legislation was introduced into WA in March 2009. This legislation aims to minimise security risk for companies involved with the manufacture, storage, laboratory use and transport of security risk substances, including ammonium nitrate.
We have met all of the requirements relating to this legislation, and have strict security measures in place at our production and storage facilities.
We also employ stringent employee and contractor checks before work can commence at our facility and only sell to licensed and approved customers.
Safety and compliance
Ammonium nitrate, ammonia and nitric acid are internationally classified as dangerous goods. As such, we’re required to comply with Australian regulations for manufacture, storage and despatch of these products. We also follow Security Risk Substances regulations for ammonium nitrate.
To maintain our high safety standards, we actively participate in a number of industry groups and we ensure that all of our customers comply with relevant standards.

Transportation
We have world class facilities at CSBP to deliver our ammonium nitrate, prill and ammonia products in bulk by road and rail to our approved customers. We also use port facilities to export and import our products.

- Main Roads WA regulations
- SSAN/Security Risk Substances regulations for ammonium nitrate
- Dangerous goods licences and equipment requirements for all transportation providers’ drivers and trucks
- Other shipping and transportation codes and regulations
Our compliance and our customers and service providers compliance with these regulations is strictly monitored by relevant regulatory bodies and CSBP itself.
Material safety data sheets
It’s our policy at CSBP to provide a unique MSDS for each of our products, including those not classified as hazardous material by WorkSafe Australia.
